Massey Theatre is celebrating our 75th year since its opening in December 1949. Within that celebration of community service is the added excitement of big steps in Massey’s sustainability and growth. A multi-year renovation project is underway. The project aims to modernize the Massey Theatre complex by extending its life and improving services and efficiency in a number of ways. The Complex will be 98% more energy efficient and more areas will be wheelchair accessible. There will be 22 universal bathrooms to create a better audience experience.
With much work completed and more to come, soon the community will really start to see the transformation. The construction crew is going to be busy this summer as interior and exterior work is ramping up. Please check the City of New Westminster’s website and our website and social media for updates.
